I went to San Jose Sharks game last night with my son Ben, Chris Veilleux and his son Jacob. We watch the Sharks beat the Red Wings 4-2. We sat 3rd row and I was at the corner of the Sharks penalty box. I took this picture when Blake was in the naughty corner.

NLT Study Bible
The Family Bible Center in Turlock hosted a breakfast for the all the local pastors today. The guest speaker was from Tyndale and he shared some history of the bible with the 40+ pastors (and me). I went with my freind Ken Meuers from Prodigal Son and Daughters. We all walked out with a free bag of goodies and the new NLT Study Bible.
If you haven't been in to The Family Bible Center lately you need to go in and check it. The new owner has really done a nice job with the store.

Lieutenant Dan... you got legs
I took Ben and Jonah around the corner to Stan State to see Gary Sinise and the Lieutenant Dan Band. It was a small crowd under the stars at the amphitheater, but it wouldn't have taken a detective to realize they were having big fun.
Picture taken and posted with my Blackberry Curve.

Go to the dentist to check your blood preasure?
I went to my dentist today and the first thing they did was check my blood pressure. This is a new policy for the office. My hygienist said that people see a dentist more than they see a doctors and they are alerting patients if they have hypertension also some drugs given at the dentist office can effect those with high blood pressure.
I think it is a good thing.

Me and my brothers with A.R Bernard and Adam Durso

The Green Room
I wanted to share some pictures and a video from the New York City Harvest Crusade. 13,000 people came to Madison Square Garden and 1,380 of them made decisions to follow Christ.
Here is a video from Pastor Greg Laurie's blog. This is the meeting in the green room before the event started. You will see my brother Dan Standing by Greg Laurie and later in the video you will here the door open and shut- that was me coming in late standing in the corner taking pictures by the Relient K drummer. Then you will also see Greg waving at my brother Jeff (he is really waving at his grand daughter).

Thought For The Day
Deuteronomy 10
17 "The Lord your God is the God of gods and Lord of lords. He is the great God, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality and takes no bribes. 18 He gives justice to orphans and widows. He shows love to the foreigners living among you and gives them food and clothing. 19 You, too, must show love to foreigners, for you yourselves were once foreigners in the land of Egypt.

mother's cookies dead at the age of 92
Mothers Cookies has shut down their ovens and closed their doors... I grew up eating Mothers cookies and still enjoy them with my children. My favorite is of course the Circus Animal.

Here are some of the others that will be dearly missed...

Cleto Rodriguez
Me and Cleto Rodriguez
This year the company I work for had its fiscal year end dinner at On Broadway in Turlock. The food was very good and the staff was excellent. There were lots of prizes given away including a 42 inch plasma television.
The entertainment for the night was comedian Cleto Rodriguez from San Antonio, Texas. He has appeared with George Lopez, was on Last Comic Standing and he has his own local (San Antonio) show- Late Night With Cleto Rodriguez. He is also touring with Promise Keepers. Cleto is very funny and the audience loved him.
It was fun to get to know him.

Thought For Today
Micah 6 verse 7-8
Would that please the Lord? Should we sacrifice our firstborn children to pay for the sins of our souls? Would that make him glad?
Would that please the Lord? Should we sacrifice our firstborn children to pay for the sins of our souls? Would that make him glad?
8 No, O people, the Lord has already told you what is good, and this is what he requires: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

Testicular stem cells instead of embryonic stem cells?
It seems that the cells from testicles can be used like the stem cells harvested from embryos. Isn't that nuts. They could potential make replacement parts from these cells...this is only good new for men so far (I think... I have not seen how they harvest the cells). I am sure glad that scientists are out there trying to figure this stuff out, so I can go on wasting hours on the computer. So to all the hard working scientist I say-Have a ball. I am sure after a long day of research they are ready to hit the sack.

MONSTER TRUCKS
Well well well, the Monster Truck Show was back in Turlock this weekend and for some reason Julie let me take the kids all by myself. They not only had monster trucks they also had locals racing their "tuff trucks" and of course the motorcycle jumping.
Casualties of the show:
One motorcyclist left in an ambulance after he biffed the landing.
Not all the tuff trucks left under their own power.
Grave Digger was crippled but they fixed him on the spot so he could finish the show.
After going to the Monster Truck Show I have a strange urge to put my couch on my front porch and to stop mowing my lawn...

From The Book Of Amos
21 "I hate all your show and pretense-the hypocrisy of your religious festivals and solemn assemblies. 22 I will not accept your burnt offerings and grain offerings. I won't even notice all your choice peace offerings. 23 Away with your hymns of praise! They are only noise to my ears. I will not listen to your music, no matter how lovely it is. 24 Instead, I want to see a mighty flood of justice, a river of righteous living that will never run dry.
