A real going away party

I went to a going to prison party for a friend of mine. 20 of us had pizza, talked, and prayed.

He is paying for something that happened years ago before he new Christ. He will be able to share Christ with many people in that Federal Prison in Texas, just like the Apostle Paul. I look forward to seeing him in a couple of years.

We received our first Christmas card yesterday. Ti's the season...

Bacon wrapped pork loin

We (my family and friends) cooked 40 lbs of bacon wrapped pork loins for a meal we served at church. We also served homemade mashed potatoes with pork gravy, vegetables, soup, and rolls w/butter.

1/2 the children legally abandoned in Nebraska have been teenagers

The "Safe Haven" law took effect in mid-July and so far 33 children have been left at hospitals. This includes 18 teenagers - five 17-year-olds, two 16-year-olds, six 15-year-olds, two 14-year-olds, three 13-year-olds - have been abandoned, along with eight children who were 11 or 12. The law was intended to allow mothers to drop off babies at hospitals with out fear of prosecution.

30 Days - 3000 Hours



We kicked off the "30 days and 3000 hours" program at church last Sunday. We are hoping to have 3000 volunteer hours for programs and non-profits in the local area. Sunday we had 18 different organizations represented that people could sign up for. For more information click here.

This is a picture of the bonfire at the party. I took the picture with my Blackberry when we were on a very cool hay ride. It was a nice evening but it was cut short for my daughter and I after my daughter puked on me during the hay ride. She wasn't feeling well so I took her home and cleaned her up and put her to bed.
